Biowaste is any waste capable of undergoing anaerobic or aerobic decomposition. For example, this includes (bio)waste from school cafeterias, which unfortunately is quite abundant. It originates from food preparation and also from uneaten food leftovers on plates, among other sources. In the laboratory, anaerobic digestion helps us utilize this biowaste, with the assistance of anaerobic bacteria. Curious how it works? We’d be happy to show you at our FoodCircus.
