J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry

The Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry promotes the scientific legacy of the Nobel laureate, Professor Jaroslav Heyrovský, in fields related to physical chemistry. Over two hundred scientists, from promising young researchers to world-renowned experts, are engaged in groundbreaking fundamental and applied research, as well as education. Theoretically and experimentally acquired insights into physical and chemical processes are important for energy production and storage, industrial catalytic processes, healthcare and protection of the environment. https://www.jh-inst.cas.cz/

The beauty of physical equations: Prague is the third European city with an equation painting in a public place

The Heyrovský-Ilkovich equation has been painted on the side wall of the building of the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry since June. The Institute of the Academy of Sciences was thus placed alongside the Dutch cities of Leiden and Utrecht, where the idea of promoting science using equations on public buildings arose. The next equation will be painted in Vienna. This science communication activity is part of the ONEM project.
