The subject of the IAPG activity, whose history dates back to 1954, is a top-level basic research in physiology, genetics, ecology and evolution. On a wide range of topics, from biomedical to biodiversity-oriented, we study unique features of domestic, wild and laboratory animals. The results of our research bring unique knowledge, especially in the area of physiological functions, genetic structures, interactions in the genome of animals and interactions of animals with their surroundings. In particular, it is research into species / populations of major importance in medicine (model species), ecology (protected or otherwise significant species) or agriculture (livestock) and research on food quality and safety.
