Planetarium Ostrava has been offering astronomy-themed and other programs to the public and to schools since 1980. After extensive reconstruction (2012–2014), it is now a modern institution for education, entertainment and relaxation. The Ostrava Planetarium is a part of the Faculty of Mining and Geology of the Technical University of Ostrava.
